Clashes erupted when dozens of Muslim Brotherhood members interrupted a march in support of army chief El-Sisi’s calls to demonstrate against terrorism heading to Al-Shawn square in the industrial city of Mahalla in the Gharbiya governorate north of Cairo, reported Ahram Arabic.
A number of members of the march, which numbered in the thousands, also reported seeing men shooting at them from the top of a building. One person was shot in the head by live ammunition, while there were ten birdshot injuries. The protestors responded by throwing stones at those shooting.
