Islamist leader Ahmed Nureddine Mansour arrested in Suez, charged of plotting to attack military

A security source in the Governorate of Suez has said that prominent Islamist leader, Ahmed Nureddine Mansour, was arrested on Sunday, MENA reports.
 
The security source confirmed in a statement that Nureddine, who is a leading member of the ultra-conservative Islamist group Al-Gamaa Al-Islamiya in the city, was arrested at his home following an order of apprehension by prosecution. He has been charged with plotting to attack the army.
 
On Saturday, Egyptian security forces arrested Adel Mohamed, a wanted senior militant in the Sinai Peninsula, suspected of killing 25 off-duty policeman on 19 August.
