Former Prime Minister Atef Ebeid
Egyptian former prime minister Atef Ebeid, former interior minister Ahmed Gamal El-Din and current Petroleum Minister Sherif Ismail are to testify Sunday in the retrial of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, his two sons, Gamal and Alaa, and his interior minister Habib El-Adly.
On Saturday the court listened to the testimony of former director of intelligence Mourad Mowafi.
Further sessions have been earmarked on October 19, 20 and 21 to hear testimonies from Ebeid, Mowafi, Gamal El-Din, Ismail, and former major general of the armed forces Hassan El-Roweiny.
The three sessions will not be aired publicly for national security reasons.
The 85 year-old deposed president and El-Adly both received life sentences in June 2012 on charges of political responsibility for the killing of peaceful protesters during the January 2011 uprising that led to Mubarak's ouster.
Mubarak also faces charges of squandering public funds by selling natural gas to Israel at below market prices.
Earlier verdicts were overturned in January 2013 by an appeals court on the grounds of procedural improprieties.
Mubarak's first trial began in August 2011.
