Qasr Al-Nil Prosecution ordered Saturday an April 6 Youth Movement member detained for four days pending investigations for handing out flyers "inciting against the army and the police" when calling for demonstrations to mark the Mohamed Mahmoud Street battle anniversary.

Several political groups are calling for a protest 19 November, marking the second anniversary of the Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes with police during which tens were killed and others were severely injured.

The protest is called for by the Way of the Revolution Front, a political umbrella group that includes members of the April 6 Youth Movement, Strong Egypt Party, the Revolutionary Socialists and the Justice and Freedom Youth.

The Way of the Revolution Front was launched 24 September, aiming to provide an alternative to the current polarisation between the military and Muslim Brotherhood.
