Egypt's 50-member constitution panel may begin voting on Thursday afternoon, committee leader Amr Moussa has said
The final vote will be televised and open to journalists.
"The committee is expected to start the final public voting on Thursday afternoon if it reaches agreement on the remaining articles," Moussa said.
The remaining articles under debate are related to the Shura Council (upper house of parliament).
Initially a majority of panel members agreed to abolish the upper house. But differences returned, with parties such as the Wafd advocating the chamber be kept.
Moussa said he had reached an agreement with Pope Tawadros II, the head of the Coptic Church, on the constitution's preamble.
The Coptic Church, the Salafist Nour Party and Al-Azhar, the highest institution in Sunni Islam, had each expressed reservations on the constitution's preamble and its definition of Islamic Sharia law.
