The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces revealed on Tuesday that the expected appointment of new heads of state newspapers will be announed in the coming week.

State media journalists have been demonstrating against the leading figures of their institutions, accusing them of corruption and demanding the management be removed.

Protesting journalists have also been demanding that the wide discrepancy in wages be addressed, the editor-in-chief's authority be circumscribed and the government controlled Supreme Press Council be abolished.
