A US official said the Egyptian government was going "way too far" in the crackdown on the Brotherhood, but added that the Obama administration was not planning to take any action against Cairo in response.

The US official said that the administration of President Barack Obama was not considering, or even discussing, the possibility of the US government designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

Historically, the US has placed the names of some individuals associated with the Muslim Brotherhood on US government sanctions list, but has not imposed sanctions on the movement itself.

In Washington, US Secretary of State John Kerry called Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy and "expressed concern" about the terrorist designation of the Muslim Brotherhood and recent detentions and arrests in Egypt, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

Kerry condemned the recent bomb attacks in Egypt but "underscored the need for an inclusive political process across the political spectrum that respects the fundamental human rights of all Egyptians in order to achieve political stability and democratic change," Psaki said.

America
Of course not! Obama will not do even the slightest thing to the MB as he is probably the most Key character in their debauchery. I only wish we were as strong as our friends in Egypt, who, despite painful bloodshed, went ahead and got rid of the MB in power and is proceeding to punish the remaining sects of terrorism where they find it! I congratulate them on their determination and strength. A strength our forefathers in America had when leaving the King and starting their own country. They must be looking at this with anger and disgust as Americans have become so complacent that they will not rise up against tyranny and oppression any longer. Makes me sad.

Time for the truth
The American people are getting fed up with the silliness of the Egyptian government to whom we have given billions of dollars to keep the Egyptian economy afloat. If America pulls the plug on Egypt the economy will collapse and the military equipment without American spare parts will be as good as junk. Enjoy constant electrical blackouts without support of the International Monetary Fund. Insulting the American government will not put food on the table of the Egyptian people. The people who are making these insulting postings have done nothing to help the average Egyptian to improve economically.

USA is a terrorist entity
USA must stop their support for terrorist islamofacists , they have to show cooperation with the civilized world in our war against terrorism , if all diplomatic means failed and USA continued their support and hosting of islamofacist terrorists in USA and refused any cooperation , then we have to isolate USA from the civilized world push harsh sentences on it as a terrorist entity protecting terrorism , cut oil , shut down suez canal against all their world business and trade then finally we have to make a collation for massive invasion to liberate americans from their terrorist government and terrorist american islamofacists then we will help USA to come back to the civilized world enjoy liberty and dignity with the rest of the international community .

How could they?
How could the American gov condemns it's own people?! Yes muslim brotherhood members especially high ranking ones are mere CIA agents implanted into the Egyptian society to gulfill the new Middle East breaking down plan. So I inderdtand why Obama and his administration can't declare them a terrorist organisation If they do so they betrayed their own people. That's an act of patriotism in disguise!!! Sarcasm!! On the other hand if they do declare it, they will lose 8 billion dollars of American tax payers money paid to terrorist organisation in order to execute terrorism in the Middle East! What a horrible Dilemma?!!! Poor Obama!

Your statement is void!
In the USA they bring down an elected goverment by free elections, and NOT by force as they did in Egypt. So comparing with the USA is not fair. You can compare maybe by an African country where Coups "usually" take place on year basis.

Rule of Law
No. Terrorists, those charged with such a crime, are arrested and charged then tried by a jury. They are provided with a lawyer if they cannot afford one. All are given the full protection of the law. The police are the ones who apprehend criminals, no more. The courts, after finding one guilty, deliver punishment. These procedures which can take time and which are very costly is why Bush, Jr. opened Gitmo so those he captured would not be brought to US soil. If "the people" take the law into their own hands, they are charged with murder.

we all know that the real terrorists are Sisi and his criminal junta
Besides, who cares about Sisi's designation of the largest Islamic movement as "terrorist?" Jesus, the Prophet Muhammed, and Moses were all declared "terrorists. The Islamists shall prevail. Death and disgrace and oblivion belong to Sisim his criminal junta and hypocritical supporters.

US Aid to Egypt
Regardless of whether the US decides to name MB terrorist or not - US aid to Egypt will never stop - there is too much at stake for that - Egypt and US relations will continue so all them other countries like Russia, China and Iran who think they can step in and fill the United States' shoes in Egypt - I am sorry that will not happen even if they try..

Wrong
Russia cannot step in. They offered to SELL arms to Egypt and hope to get a contact to build a nuclear power plant here. China has no interest espcailly since it has bought Apache Petro. interests in Egypt. The US would be more than happy to have these countries protect shipping lanes the oil of which 10% goes to the US. Russia is attempting to get US and EU investors. Even Putin says it will be another 20 years before the Russian economy is back on target. The idea of supporting a people that hates us is not something that will be long tolerated by US taxpayers. We have other assets in the region that can replace Egypt. Even the Suez Canal is becoming obsolete. The relationship will only survive if both parties feel they benefit. Now Egypt is an ally not to be trusted.
