The High Court of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has jailed 30 people, including 20 Egyptians, for forming a Muslim Brotherhood cell, a judicial source told AFP.

The sentences range from three months to five years. The court found one of the accused not guilty on some charges.

The cell comprised ten Emiratis and 20 Egyptians, including six who were sentenced in absentia.

The Egyptians will be deported after serving their sentence, the source told AFP.

The court also ordered the dissolution of the Brotherhood, the closure of its offices and the confiscation of its property in the UAE.

The group has been banned in much of the region.

The UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia pledged billions of dollars in aid to Egypt after the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi, who is a member of the Brotherhood, in July 2013.

Tuesday's session started with the judge stressing that the court had listened to all the testimonies of the accused, their lawyers and the prosecution and had made its ruling based upon legal rules, Emirates News Agency reported.
