Two policemen have been shot dead outside a church in Cairo's Ain Shams district during a pro-Morsi rally.

One died at the scene on Wednesday evening, the second died in hospital in Nasr City on Thursday morning.

Gunmen reportedly opened fire on police guarding the Evangelical church as a pro-Morsi march passed by.

Security forces have arrested a number of suspects.

In January, gunmen attacked the Virgin Mary Coptic Church in 6 October City, killing a policeman and injuring another.
