Palestinians take cover from a water cannon being fired by Israeli occupation forces during clashes at the Qalandia checkpoint between Ramallah and Jerusalem on July 1, 2016, as Israeli authorities banned men under 45 from accessing the Al-Aqsa mosque compound for Friday prayers.
The Palestinian health ministry said that a middle-aged man had died from tear gas fired by Israeli forces during a clash at the Qalandia crossing.
Israeli police said in a statement that three members of the security forces were injured by stones but it reported no Palestinian casualties.
