Artists continue to stage an open-ended sit-in at Egypt's culture ministry building in Cairo.
Around midday, a large number of artists and intellectuals entered the Ministry of Culture building while a few hundred others staged a protest on the street in front of the ministry.
The artists' numbers grew by the hour and they were joined by passers-by as well.
With artists chanting and staging musical performances on the street, a group occupying the ministry's office sat around the large table in one of the inside rooms.
The artists chanted demanding removal of the culture minister, Alaa Abdel-Aziz, stating that the sit-in would continue until his dismissal.
