On Friday 18 April, Egypt's three-day 3al Ganoob music festival in Red Sea's Marsa Alam kicked off bringing 19 of the region's most entrancing independent musicians for non-stop beach jamming, sunset drum circles and much more.
The artists included acoustic musicians Massar Egbari, Abo & Sennary, Youssra El-Hawary, Tamer Abu Ghazala, Sabrine Darabuka, Safi, Asia, Like Jelly, Bahia and party starters Soopar Lox.
Besides the ongoing concerts, festival goers had a chance to participate in morning and sunset yoga sessions on the beach in addition to other beach activities such as kite-surfing, snorkelling and diving.
A favorite activity among many was the daily sunset drum circle led by Bongoz.
The festival took place in Marsa Alam's Tondoba Bay, over 700 km away from Cairo.
