Hiza' Fellini (In Fellini's Shoes), by: Waheed El-Taweela, (Dar Al-Mutawassit - Milan, Italy), 185pp. 2016.
Egyptian writer and novelist Waheed El-Taweela has released his latest novel entitled Hiza' Fellini (Fellini's Shoes), published by Dar Al-Mutawassit in Milan.
The novel is divided into 14 parts, whose titles intersect with the biography of legendary Italian cinema director Federico Fellini (1920 - 1993).
El-Taweela prefaces his work by saying: "I dedicate this novel to those who screamed but were not heard and to those who could not scream. I read Fellini's memoires over and over again, and through the spirit of the memoires I built my novel."
"Though realistic, Fellini's memoires revolved around his belief that dreaming is the most honest thing one can do."
El-Taweela, born in 1960, resided in Tunisia for a long time before returning to Egypt.
His previous novel, published in 2013, was titled Bab El-Leil (The Night’s Door). He also published two short story collections Khalf El-Leil Bikalil (A little behind night) and Kama Yaleeq Bi Ragol Qasir (As Befits a short man).
