Abu Dhabi International Book Fair calls for book donations

MENA, Tuesday 27 Mar 2012

Donation boxes are distributed throughout the city, intending to collect books for third-world readers who have less access to books

The 2012 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates launched a campaign for book donations. From 28 March - 2 April the book fair takes on its social responsibility by collecting books and donating them to third world country readers, who may have less access to books.

The donation boxes have been distributed throughout the city in addition to the fair grounds.

This initiative is the result of concerted efforts between various organisations, including the Abu Dhabi Education Council, that is collecting books from schools and other education institutions in the city, in addition to contacting libraries and readers and placing donation boxes in schools and universities.
