General Egyptian Book Organisation celebrates World Book Day with discounts and discussions

Discussion on books, publishing, intellectuals and the constitution 23/24 April 7pm at GEBO on Corniche El-Nil, Cairo

The General Egyptian Book Organisation (GEBO) is celebrating World Book Day by offering discounts of 20-50 per cent on publications offered at its outlets.

In addition, a discussion will be held on Monday 23 April called ‘Advancing Books and the Publishing Industry’ at the GEBO, headed by Ahmed Megahed and hosted by Saad Abdel-Rahman, head of the General Organisation for Cultural Palaces; Mohamed Rashad, head of the Egyptian Publishers Union, and Mohamed Fathi Abdel-Hadi, professor of information sciences at Cairo University.

The second event is an open discussion called ‘Intellectuals and the Constitution’, hosting renowned poet Ahmed Abdel-Moati Hegazy on Tuesday 24 April.
