Islamic thinker Abdel Gawad Yassin to be honoured in Cairo 4 January

Abdel Gawad Yassin, one of the most controversial Islamic thinkers of our day, reinterprets the relation between religion and politics

Believers without Borders will be honouring Egyptian thinker and former judge Abdel Gawad Yassin during a conference to be held in Cairo 4-5 January. Yassin will be recognised for his intellectual efforts, including his last book, Al-Deen w Al-Tadayoun (Religion and Religiousness), released recently in Beirut.

Abdel Gawad Yassin, born 1954, lives outside Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Law and is known for his controversial writings that echoed across all Arab capitals.

Yassin has published many books on Islamic thought and political theory.
