Prominent Egyptian leftist Kamal Khalil will be signing his recently released memoirs, Hekayat Zaman Faat (Tales of a Past Time), on Saturday, 19 January at 7pm at the Cairo Atelier in Cairo Downtown.

The book tackles his political history from the 1970’s until the early 21st century.

Khalil is the co-founder of many opposition political movements. He started his struggle in the 70’s when he played a major role in 1977 uprising against President Sadat.  

Khalil was arrested more than 15 times for his activism against Zionism and promoting the rights of peasants and workers.
