An Afghan official says four people were killed and 12 wounded when a suicide car bomber attacked a police supply convoy.

Mohammad Ismail Hotaki, a police official in Helmand province, says three of the dead and 11 of the wounded in the Sunday attack were police officers.

Afghan police officers have suffered heavy casualties as insurgents step up their attacks in the wake of the withdrawal of most foreign troops from Afghanistan at the end of last year.
