Cameroonian troops engaged in "heavy clashes" on Tuesday with fighters from the Islamist Boko Haram group, a security source said.

Boko Haram fighters from neighbouring Nigeria attacked the far northern Cameroon border village of Bonderi, the source told AFP, requesting anonymity, adding that "it's too early to give a casualty toll".
