The leader of Turkey's pro-Kurdish HDP opposition called on Wednesday for an immediate halt to hostilities on both sides after Turkish air strikes on Kurdish militants in response to an increase in attacks on the security forces.

"Hostilities should immediately come to a halt," Demirtas told reporters, calling on all parties to act with "common sense".
