A Jewish man was in serious condition after being stabbed by a Palestinian in Jerusalem on Saturday afternoon in what was believed to be a nationalistic attack, a police spokeswoman said.

The incident took place in the northern neighbourhood of Ramot, police spokeswoman Luba Samry said. The wounded man, aged approximately 20, was evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The perpetrator fled the scene, and Israeli police ground units and helicopters were searching for the suspect, police said.
