Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas on the expected US recognition to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Russian News Agency (TASS) reported on Wednesday.

Putin, according to Peskov, told Abbas that the "situation is complex" and "expressed concern" about "its possible exacerbation."

"However, we do not want to talk about the decisions that have not been announced yet" Peskov was quoted as saying.
