Dozens of Palestinian protesters were injured and at least 200 detained by Israeli occupation forces on Monday in a fifth day of clashes following US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel last week.
The announcement on Wednesday sparked protests in Jerusalem, Gaza and the West bank, with protesters throwing stones at Israeli security forces who fired tear gas, rubber bullets and live rounds.
The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs confirmed the arrests, saying that many arrests took place in Jerusalem during the protests, with Paletinian activists being targetted.
The Palestinian health ministry said on Monday that at least 1,175 Palestinians had been injured since the protests started, with four people killed in the first two days.
