Nigerian military says it repels suspected Boko Haram attack

Nigeria's military has repelled an attack on Monday by suspected Boko Haram militants on the outskirts of the northeastern city of Maiduguri, the regional army commander said.

The situation is now under control, Major General Nicholas Rogers, who heads Nigeria's military operations against Boko Haram, told Reuters by phone.
