Israel re-arrests two prisoners recently released among hundreds in exchange for Israeli Gilad Shalit

Israeli troops on Thursday re-arrested a Palestinian woman who was one of hundreds of prisoners released in October under a swap deal with Israel, security sources said.

Haneh Shalabi was arrested in Burqin village near the northern town of Jenin, the Palestinian sources said. The army could not immediately confirm the arrest.

On Tuesday, troops in the southern city of Hebron re-arrested another Palestinian, a member of the Islamist Hamas movement, who was also released under the swap agreement.

Under terms of the October swap deal, Israel freed more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in a two-stage release in exchange for captive soldier Gilad Shalit who was snatched by Gaza-based militants in June 2006.
