At least three people were killed Sunday when a suicide bomber drove his explosives-packed car at a Catholic church in the central Nigerian city of Jos, the emergency relief agency said.
"Three confirmed dead," Yushau Shuaib, spokesman for the National Emergency Relief Management Agency told AFP, adding that several others were in a critical condition.
"The bomber drove his car towards St. Finbar's Catholic church at Rayfield. The bomb exploded before he could get to the church," he said.
Central Nigeria, which divides the predominantly Muslim north from the mostly Christian south, has been struck by a series of deadly gun and bomb attacks blamed on the Islamist Boko Haram sect.
