A Tunisian opposition party that was holding off on joining the country's new post-revolt government said on Wednesday that it was now definitively pulling out and called for a new cabinet line-up.

"We have decided to pull out and not take part in the government," Khalil Zaouia, a member of the party's political bureau, told AFP
"We are calling for new negotiations for the formation of a new government," he added.

The Democratic Forum for Labour and Liberty, known under its French acronym FDLT, is one of Tunisia's legal opposition parties allowed under the Ben Ali regime. Banned movements include the Communists and the Islamists.

FDLT leader Mustapha Ben Jaafar was appointed as health minister on Monday.
