French President Francois Hollande admitted Tuesday his couple was going through a "painful" moment but said he would not immediately make any more comments on reports of his affair with an actress.
Hollande told an economically oriented news conference at his presidential palace that it was "neither the time nor the place" for such questions, but that he would clarify the situation regarding his partner Valerie Trierweiler before a US visit in February.
