Bolivia on Wednesday renounced a visa exemption agreement with Israel in protest over its offensive in Gaza, and declared it a terrorist state.

President Evo Morales announced the move during a talk with a group of educators in the city of Cochabamba.

It "means, in other words, we are declaring (Israel) a terrorist state," he said.

The treaty has allowed Israelis to travel freely to Bolivia without a visa since 1972.

Morales said the Gaza offensive shows "that Israel is not a guarantor of the principles of respect for life and the elementary precepts of rights that govern the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of our international community."

More than two weeks of fighting in Gaza have left 1,300 dead and 6,000 wounded amid an intense Israeli air and ground campaign in response to missile attacks by the Islamist militant group Hamas.

In the latest development, 16 people were killed after two Israeli shells slammed into a United Nations school, drawing international protests.

Bolivia broke off diplomatic relations with Israel in 2009 over a previous military operation in Gaza.

In mid-July, Morales filed a request with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to prosecute Israel for "crimes against humanity."

The Nazis of our Time
How ironic that the Jews of Israel have become the fascist Nazis of our Time, gleefully murdering women and children while the world looks on in horror. Felicidades al presidente Morales por haber declarado que Israel es un estado terrorista!

When Italy will do the same??
I totally agree with President Morales. I am disgusted to have been born in Italy. I dissociate myself from all the Italians who continue to support the state of Israel and I embrace all Italians and internationals who daily fight against the violations of Israel. We continue to hope that those in power can stop this ongoing massacre of Palestinians angels. there are no words to describe this pain فلسطين حرة

Bravo Bolivia
Great diplomatic move by Bolivia . Ruth Egypt has done more to end this terroristic massacre than allo the other nations combined . They negotiated a cease fire accepted by the palastinian president and Isreal they sent 500 tons of aid followed by another 15 truck convoy. They have said they would permantly open the border if it's manned by fatah on the palastinian side. They cannot and will not open the border with Hamas controlling it. Hamas has been supporting the Ikhwani terrorist in Egypt we cannot allow more weapons to be smuggled in yo kill Egyptian . I know the ikhwan and their sheep are trying to take advantage of the palastinian massacre but they need to know it's over for them in Egypt . They will neve be back.
