Palestinians fired a mortar shell into southern Israel on Tuesday in the first attack since a July 26 truce took hold, although there were no casualties, the Israeli army said.

"For the first time since operation Protective Edge, a mortar shell fired from Gaza hit southern Israel," spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner said on the army's official Twitter feed, referring to the military offensive in Gaza.
