Arab foreign ministers will meet today at 5pm to discuss the appointment of a new Arab League secretary-general. Amr Moussa's second term in the post comes to an end today.
Sources in the Egyptian foreign ministry have revealed that the meeting will confirm the postponement of appointing Moussa's successor.
Pressures are building within the League for Nabil El-Arabi to replace Mustafa El-Fiqi as Egypt's candidate for the post. El-Fiqi's candidacy attracted controversy within Egypt for his close links to the Mubarak regime.
