Incident comes amid upsurge in settler violence against Palestinian residents

Israeli settlers have uprooted some 400 olive trees near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Ghassan Douglas, the Palestinian Authority official responsible for settlement affairs, was quoted as saying on Sunday by the Palestinian Ma’an news agency.

Friday also witnessed the murder of a Palestinian man during clashes instigated by Israeli settlers in the town of Qusra, also located in the Nablus governorate.

The two incidents come amid increased settler violence in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where two mosques have been vandalised and a number of attacks on Palestinian residents have been reported within recent weeks.
