European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said on Wednesday the EU was looking for the smoothest possible relations with Britain after it leaves the union and hopes institutional turmoil can end as soon as possible.

Speaking during a visit to Beijing, Mogherini said she did not believe Brexit would have a spillover effect.
