Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are in Cairo and are expected to discuss reconciliation between the Palestinian resistance groups.

Meshaal arrived on Wednesday after travelling from Morocco, whilst Abbas arrived on Tuesday.

Abbas is expected to discuss Palestinian reconciliation with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi on Wednesday.

There have been no recent official statements on whether Meshaal will meet Abbas in Cairo, but in late June a senior Palestinian Authority official said the two would meet in July.
