Iranian President Hassan Rouhani asks Russia for help in solving his country's nuclear problem

Iran's new centrist leader Hassan Rouhani on Friday urged Moscow to help solve Iran's nuclear crisis as he met President Vladimir Putin for a key meeting at a security summit in Kyrgzystan.

"As far as the Iranian nuclear problem is concerned, we would like this problem to be solved as soon as possible within the framework of international norms. In the past Russia undertook important steps in this sphere, and right now is the best opportunity for new steps on your part," the Interfax news agency quoted Rowhani telling Putin in Bishkek.
