Two explosions were heard near the southern Israeli port city of Eilat, Ynetnews reported on Monday, adding that the Israeli military is currently investigating the cause of the blasts.

The website of Israeli newspaper Haaretz mentioned that a rocket fired at Eilat had "apparently [come] from the Sinai Peninsula."

Haaretz reported that "police forces began combing the city shortly after the blasts were heard, at around 7pm., and located the projectile in an open area near the entrance to the city."
