Mediator says Damascus 'delaying' Geneva talks: Diplomats

The international mediator on Syria briefed the UN Security Council Thursday that Damascus was delaying efforts to resume peace talks in Geneva designed to end the three-year-old civil war.

UN and Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi said the Syrian government was engaged in "delaying tactics" and that any re-election of President Bashar al-Assad would complicate the search for a political solution.
