At least 49 Spaniards were among the 150 people killed in the German passenger jet that crashed in the French Alps, the Spanish government said Wednesday.

"Forty-nine Spanish victims have been identified" so far (as being on) Tuesday's flight, junior security minister Francisco Martinez told a news conference, adding that is was a "provisional" figure.
