Russia's President Vladimir Putin has spoken about the situation in Ukraine by telephone with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Kremlin announced Sunday.

The world leaders "exchanged points of view on what the international community could do to normalise" the situation in Ukraine, it said in a brief statement that gave little detail.
