Attackers shot dead two people Sunday when they burst into a church service spraying the congregation with bullets near Kenya's port city of Mombasa, police said.

Local police chief Robert Mureithi, from the Likoni district just south of Mombasa, said the gunmen killed the two worshippers before fleeing, the latest violence amid heightened warnings of a risk of Islamist attacks.
