Engineer Magdi Tawfeek, chairman of the Egyptian natural gas company GASCO, has announded that a fire ignited by the explosion of a pipeline supplying gas to Israel and Jordan has been put out.
Unknown saboteurs blew up the pipeline that runs through North Sinai at the crack of dawn today, an incident that is widely expected to escalate tensions between Egypt and Israel.
“All valves have been sealed and the fire was put out as fast as possible,” Tawfeek stated. “A full report about the incident is yet to be issued.”
