Mobile operators Mobinil and Vodafone have been offered to renew their telecom licenses to 2031 for LE1 billion ($140.8 million).
The Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) said in a statement sent to the Egyptian stock exchange that it received, along with Vodafone Egypt, a license draft from the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to renew all their telecom licenses including mobile, fixed line and international, to end of 2031.
Mobinil said it is currently studying the draft.
Egypt has three private mobile operators. Mobinil was the first to provide the service in 1998, shortly followed by Vodafone (named Click at the time).
Etisalat was provided a third mobile license in 2007.
