Egypt's benchmark index inched down 0.87 percent to 6,777 points on Monday after rising for four consecutive sessions.
Daily stock turnover hovered around LE540 million.
Market bellwether Commercial International Bank (CIB) dipped 1.77 percent to LE44.6 per share, and leading investment bank EFG-Hermes declined 1.57 percent to LE8 per share.
Global Telecom Holding continued to rise for the fifth consecutive session, climbing 5.39 percent to LE2.08 per share. Rumours that majority shareholder Vimpelcom was offering to buy GTH spread last week boosted the company shares.
Arab investors were net sellers to the tune of LE44.3 million and non-Arab foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of LE18.2 million.
