Egypt purchases 240,000 tons of Romanian, Ukrainian wheat

Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities said on Friday it had signed contracts to import 240,000 tons of wheat from Romania and Ukraine.

Egypt will import 180,000 tons of wheat from Romania and 60,000 tons from Ukraine, GASC said in a statement after an international bid on Friday.

The quantities will be delivered from 20 May to 5 June, it added.
