Workers at Egypt's biggest public textile company, the Mahalla Textile and Weaving Compny, who have been on strike since 10 February, have suspended their strike for 60 days after the government promised to meet their demands.

The primary demands of the striking workers has been for payment of delayed bonuses.

Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawy promised the workers their demands will be met but said the government needed time, worker Faisal Lakousha told Ahram Online on Saturday. Lakousha said the workers have decided to give the government 60 days to follow up on their promise.
