Increase follows the February drop that was the lowest in four years

Revenues from Egypt's Suez Canal rose 8.5 percent to aproximately LE3 billion ($441.9) million in March from approximately LE2.8 billion ($407.4) million in the same month a year prior, Egypt's state information portal said late on Thursday.

February revenues stood at approximately LE2.4 billion ($339.3) million, the lowest in four years.

The waterway, the fastest shipping route between Europe and Asia, is one of Egypt's main sources of foreign currency.
