Egypt to issue $1.75 billion, 1-year T-bill, says central bank

Reuters, Thursday 20 Nov 2014

Egypt's central bank said on Thursday it would offer a $1.75 billion one-year treasury bill to local banks and foreign financial institutions at an auction on Nov. 25.

The government has turned mainly to the local money market to finance its public deficit since a popular uprising in early 2011 that deterred many foreign investors.

Egypt last issued a dollar-denominated bill in June. Last week it announced it would issue a 650 million euro one-year bill.
