Ahram Online, Thursday 12 May 2011

Assem El-Gohari, head of Egypt's Illicit Gains Office executed a court order banning the former minister of interior, his two wives and sons from using any of their property, whether real estate or other, found throughout ongoing investigations.

El-Gohari clarified that his decision came after he had received the report from the Administrative Control Agency on El-Adli’s wealth on Wednesday, which clearly confirms that he had amassed his large fortune by exploiting his position as minister of interior.

The ex-minister was sentenced to 12 years in prison on 5 May, 2011 by the Giza Criminal Court on corruption charges.
