Vodafone Egypt investments to record $1.2 billion in 2017

Vodafone Egypt, will invest LE6 billion ($766.2 million) over the next two years in the local market, raising its total investment above LE10 billion (roughly $1.2 billion) by 2017, Khaled Hegazy, the company's legal director, was quoted by official news agency MENA on Tuesday.

Egypt's leading mobile operator won a public tender to build 11 mobile stations in Egypt's South Sinai governorate.

With more than 36.5 million customers, Vodafone Egypt will create around 3,000 job opportunities in the outsourcing business.

Vodafone Egypt is jointly owned by UK based Vodafone Group with 54.93 percent, state-run Telecom Egypt with 44.94 percent and a minority free float of 0.13 percent.
