Egypt’s Industrial Development Authority [IDA] is set to partner with the private sector in the construction of a 1.5 mtpa (million tons per annum) cement plant in Matrouh governorate on the north coast, worth LE1.5 billion .
The IDA’s intent to partner up with private investors follows a government decision to allow the private sector to hold a greater stake in strategic national industries, according to the IDA Chairman Ismail Nagdy.
The licence for the work is expected to be put to tender during the upcoming year.
